Director of Open Access Books (DOAB) - A discovery service indexing open access, scholarly, and peer-reviewed books.
OApen - A central repository for hosting and disseminating open access, peer-reviewed books. Titles are useful for academic use.
Open Book Publishers - Leading UK publishers “publish free editions of books and made freely available online in PDF, HTML and XML formats that can be read through the website, downloaded, reused or embedded anywhere”
OpenStax - A digital learning platform and publisher of free, open education resources initiated by Rice University.
Hathi Trust Digital Library - "Preserves and provides lawful access to the 17+ million digitized items”. This is a collaborative effort of academic and research libraries in the US.
Open Library - A project of Internet Archive making the books in public domain available and building an open catalog of copyrighted titles.
Open Ebooks - A library of thousands of popular and award winning-titles made free to encourage reading among children.
Project Gutenberg - Considered to be the first provider of electronic books, is an online library of free e-books not currently protected by copyrights.
